Corten Steel & Brass Tree - Bamber Bridge

DP Studio were tasked to design a central feature for a new re development in the centre of Bamber Bridge, Lancashire; along with public realm Corten planters and brass plaques.

The brief for the tree was to create a design to emulate a Roman stylised tree similar to ones seen in mosaic patterns.

The Name of the town derives from the Old English 'beam' and 'brycg' meaning 'tree trunk bridge'.

The tree was made up of five layers of 20mm Corten to form the trunk and boughs of the tree and leaves were made from 5mm Brass and aged to form a Verdigris colour.

The whole piece stands 5.5m high and weighs 3.5 tonne.
