St. Catherine’s Gate is an iron gate fabricated to a traditional design to reflect the historic walled garden of St. Catherine’s Hospice at Lostock Hall.
This 12m long footbridge is a replica of the style of bridge used in World War I called an ‘Inglis’ bridge. The use of cast iron joints and galvanised steel tube was utilised to enhance the design.
A striking contemporary gateway feature at the main entrance into the town.
Designed and fabricated in Cor-Ten steel and standing 5m tall.
